Kochi: In their first home match of Indian Super League (ISL) season 5 on Friday, the Kerala Blasters will honour the unsung heroes of August deluge that wreaked havoc in Kerala.
Kerala Blasters, coming home after a thumping 2-0 win against ATK in the inaugural game of ISL 2018, will wear a special jersey to show their respect to officers of Indian Navy and Kerala fishermen.
Rains and subsequent floods, said to be the worst in the past 100 years, had claimed 493 lives since the onset of the Southwest Monsoon on May 29, besides leaving a trail of destruction that saw nearly 14 lakh people displaced from their homes.
