All-India Police Games: Punjab men, Kerala women emerge champions

Nagpur: Defending champions Punjab Police and Kerala emerged triumphant in the men's and women's section respectively at the 72nd All-India Police Games basketball championships here.

Punjab beat Rajasthan 91-77 in the men's final at the Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana. Amritpal Singh top-scored with 27 points followed by  Amandeep Singh (20). Rajasthan's Aditya scored 22 points. 

Kerala defeated Rajasthan 69-47 In the women's final. Aiswarya shone with 16 points while captain Athulya N chipped in with 15 points. Asha scored 10 points for Rajasthan.

Kerala men defeated  CISF 104-83, while Uttar Pradesh women beat Punjab 77-61 to end up third.

The results: Men: Final: Punjab Police  91 (Amritpal Singh 27, Amandeep Singh 20, T P Singh 16, Amjoth Singh 15) bt Rajasthan Police 77 (Aditya 22 (Abbas 18, Deepak 17) 

Third-place playoff: Kerala Police 104 (Antony Johnson 26, Abhinandu 22, Shanzil Muhammed 21, Muhammed Shiras 12)  bt CISF 83 (Subham Tomar 24, Devendra 20, P Rajesh 12).Women

Women: Final: Kerala Police 69 (Aiswarya 16, Athulys N 15, Jayalkshmi V J 13, Joma Gejo12) bt Rajasthan Police 47 (Asha 10).
