Kapurthala (Punjab): The women's team of KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) were crowned champions of the 1st All-India S Balkar Singh Cheema Memorial Basketball Tournament here. In the final, KSEB women drubbed Eastern Railway 88-46.

KSEB had a chance to secure a double, but their men's team lost the title match, 28-68, to Punjab Police. The winning teams were awarded Rs 2 lakh in cash prize while the runner-ups pocketed Rs 1.5 lakh each.

Sreekala R of KSEB was adjusted as the Most Valuable player in the women's section and she received a scooter while in the men's category, Punjab Police's Amritpal Singh took home a Royal Enfield.

KSEB men had entered the final with an 85-76 win over Indian Railways while the Punjab Police had defeated Indian Bank, Chennai 65-44.
