Alappuzha: The humane face of Congress president Rahul Gandhi was on display on Tuesday when he chose to wait so that an air ambulance could be airborne before another helicopter took off with him.
The incident took place at the helipad on the ground of the Christian College, Chengannur.
When Rahul arrived at the helipad after visiting some flood-affected areas in Chengannur, an air ambulance was already waiting there to take a woman patient to a hospital in Kottayam.
On hearing about it, Rahul decided to delay his journey until the air ambulance took off. Rahul left for Alappuzha after the woman was flown to the hospital.
Rahul is on a two-day visit to flood-affected Kerala. He interacted with the residents of a relief camp in Chengannur on Tuesday morning. He will visit Wayanad on Wednesday.
