Pathanamthitta: Police security in Kerala will from now on entail more than double the current expenses as the charges for keeping the force for the purpose has been raised. This applies for police security services at festive occasions and film shoots.
The daily fee for a sniffer dog will Rs 6,300, up from Rs 3,000.
To hire a civil police officer for day duty will entail a charge of Rs 525 for four hours and Rs 790 for the same amount of time if it is night. As for personnel from the higher echelons, the rates go thus: Rs 545 (day) and Rs 1,210 (night) for senior civil police officers, Rs 1,420 and Rs 1,680 for ASI, Rs 1,945 and Rs 2,365 for SI, and Rs 2,890 and Rs 3,780 for circle inspector. The rent includes shield and gun for every officer.
As for a month’s service, the basic pay is Rs 32,385 for a civil police officer, Rs 53,025 for ASI, Rs 70,770 for SI and Rs 1,01,115 for deputy commandant. Plus the amount the government gives to the personnel as allowances and perks.
The wireless set service for a day will cost Rs 2,100 instead of Rs 1,000. The rent for a police station building will be Rs 10,300.
Such security is allotted to individuals as well as offices following scrutiny of applications filed before a court or the police. The amounts the state police so collected in the past four years from 2014 was Rs 64 crore.
