New Delhi: Flying officer Ragi Ramachandran will make Kerala proud at this year’s Republic Day parade at Rajpath. She is the lone woman among the five officers leading the 148-member strong Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent.

Ragi, hailing from Kollam, joined the IAF in 2016 and is participating in the Republic Day parade for the first time.

Another Keralite who will be part of the parade is squadron leader Kevin Sebastian.

A 75-member band led by junior warrant officer Ashok Kumar will accompany the parade.

Among the special attractions of the upcoming Republic Day parade is the participation of an aircraft running on 10 % bio fuel in the air display.

Other highlights of this year’s parade are Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter aircraft, Akash missile and the latest radar Aslesha.
