The expat couple and their family members were thrilled as they moved into their dream home that they had recently built at Perinthalmanna in Malappuram, Kerala. The classy contemporary architecture blends well with the traditional styles in order to suit the tropical climate of the state. The elegance of minimalism is definitely the highlight of this modern abode. There is a perfect harmony between public spaces and private areas that makes this house unique and special.

The structure has been constructed in a coconut orchard. So, the plot is naturally beautiful with lush greenery. The nature, in fact, complements the structure so well that it foregrounds the chic design features of the house. The plot was divided into two parts before the construction began. The structure stands on one part while the orchard remains intact in the other part. Besides, space was allotted to build an additional car parking and children’s play area too. Interestingly, the mesmerizing garden and landscape has been beautifully curated to the family’s liking.

The square plot was perfect for building such a charming house. As the family comprises multiple generations, the interiors had to be designed carefully by adding private areas as well as public spaces. One could enter the house through the car porch that is designed in the floating style. Meanwhile, the sit-out is quaint yet cosy. The grand elegance of the designer entrance door crafted in exquisite Nilambur teak wood is what welcomes you into the house.

The spaces are designed to receive ample sunshine and excellent cross ventilation. This plays a pivotal role in filling the interiors with positive vibes.

The TV unit in the ‘U’ shape is an interesting feature. A chic and colourful couch set adorns the family living area. You could catch a glimpse of the patio from this area. Meanwhile, the double-height ceiling makes the living area look and feel spacious.

The master bedroom and the bedroom for the old parents are arranged adjacently. However, a unique design feature ensures enough privacy even though both rooms are close to each other. Meanwhile, the children’s bedroom has been designed with elements of fun which reflect their personality. Such amusing designs are sure to inspire joy and energy in children.

The open kitchen is incredibly spacious. The sliding glass door in the dining area opens to the patio. The interiors get filled with natural light and cool air when this door is opened. The sleek staircase, designed in an ‘L’ shape, with teak wood finish is a spectacular designer element inside the house that draws instant attention.

This mansion which elegantly fuses artistic charm with practical wisdom is truly an example of architectural perfection.
