SFI activist hacked in Perambra, CPM alleges PFI hand

Kozhikode: A Students' Federation of India (SFI) activist was hacked at Arikkulam at Perambra in the district Monday evening. SFI worker S Vishnu was rushed to medical care.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) has alleged that the attack was carried out by the Popular Front of India (PFI) activists.

The attack comes on the same day when the state witnessed a tense afternoon after four Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) leaders were taken into custody and later released in a dramatic turn of events in the Abhimanyu murder case. The party had called for a state-wide shutdown on Tuesday, but later converted the call to observance of a black day in protest against the police action.

Abhimanyu, a young SFI leader was stabbed to death by an alleged gang of men belonging to the Campus Front inside the Maharaja's College campus at Ernakulam.
