KPCC suspends OM George after POCSO case

Kalpetta: Former Wayanad District Congress Committee general secretary O M George was expelled from the primary membership of the party on Wednesday after a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case was registered against him. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president Kodikkunnil Suresh confirmed that KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran has expelled George.

Sulthan Bathery police registered the case following the complaint by the Childline officials in the district. According to the police, the girl was sexually abused for nearly one-and-a-half years by George. The tribal girl is under the care and protection of Childline officials. George has been absconding soon after the case was registered on Tuesday.

The family of the teenage girl were domestic aide at George's house and on holidays the girl also used to help them. The girl's parents complained that she was abused when they were away.
