Munderi, Kannur: A 44-year-old woman and mother of eight oddly named children has been found dead in the hill town of Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. Rohini was a resident of Pallikunnu in Mahe, near Kannur.
Rohini, the daughter of Koliyattil Balan and Lakshmi of Kacheriparambu, Munderi village of Kannur district, was cremated in Kodaikanal amidst mystery surrounding her death. A suicide note alleging torture from a neighbour as the reason for her death has been reportedly found.
Rohini and her husband Kanoth Veettil Shajin became famous for naming their children uniquely. Their children are named Dasaradh Sagar Nariman, Hindu Sooraj Narasimhan, Ram Sapteshvaw Rigvedan, Mayyazhi Swathi Sanskrutha, Drupath Sanyas Rakshabandhan, Octavian Samvid Ruthadyuman, Rithu Samyuj Eliman and Aariya Sangeeth Niranjan.
The couple was in the business of selling home-made washing cream soap, carwash cream and cream to remove pesticide from vegetables. Shajin was in Kannur on a business trip when the incident occurred.
Rohini’s relatives and locals from Kacheriparambu blocked roads and protested in front of the Kodaikanal hospital where the body was kept seeking arrest of the person named in the letter. The protests were called off after the police promised to arrest the suspect on Saturday.
A complaint against the neighbour was registered in Kannur and Kodaikanal, said Shajin.
