Alappuzha political killings: 2 SDPI activists 'directly involved' in Ranjeet's murder arrested

OBC Morcha leader Ranjeet Srinivas was murdered at his residence in Alappuzha on December 19.

Alappuzha: The Kerala police on Tuesday reported a major breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of OBC Morcha leader Ranjeet Srinivas.

The police has confirmed the arrest of two activists of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), who have been directly linked to the murder that took place in the early hours on December 19 here.

Alappuzha-natives Anoop and Raseeb, who are now in custody, are believed to have participated in the crime.

Earlier, the police had arrested five persons, who were allegedly involved in the conspiracy behind the killing that was in retaliation for the murder of SDPI leader A S Shan less than 12 hours before.
