Kerala government's ministerial committee was left dumbstruck by the minor children of a victim of elephant attack.
The decision was taken after a team of ministers visited Wayanad and met the families of people killed in wild animal attacks.
The front also boycotted the all-party meeting convened by three ministers to discuss the spurt of wildlife attacks and human deaths in Wayanad on Tuesday.
The animal was previously spotted over the past two days in the Bairakuppa forest region of Karnataka.
The Governor who reached the district on Saturday night began his visits at the house of Panachiyil Ajeesh at Chaligadha, Payyampalli.
Five cases registered over the violence in this connection, police said, adding more arrests will follow.
He will reach Mananthavady by 10.30 pm and commence his visit on Monday by meeting the family of Ajeesh.
Increased inter-state cooperation with the Karnataka forest department was also acknowledged, noting the 25-member Karnataka involvement in the 'Operation Belur Makhna' mission.
Locals, reeling under the impact of wildlife encroachment, are staging protests that transcend political affiliations.
Expert wildlife veterinarian Dr Arun Zachariah also joined the mission on Friday.
