Chilli fish

This is a Kerala recipe infused with the novelty of Chinese cuisine. A great fish curry, with soy sauce and celery being in the list of ingredients, it reeks of exotic!

4-5 pieces of fish, cubed
2 cups fish broth
1 cup onions, chopped
½ cup capsicum, chopped
¼ cup celery, chopped
¼ cup tomato sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
1 tsp pepper powder
2 tsp crushed red chilli
1 heaped tsp chilli powder
¾ tsp salt
Oil, as required

Make a paste of salt, chilli powder and soy sauce
Marinate the fish with the paste and let it stay for 2 hours
In a pan, pour quarter cup oil
Shallow fry the fish pieces in the oil
Flip and fry till they are cooked
Once done, take off the pan and keep aside
Into the same oil, toss the chopped onion and saute well until they turn soft
Add the crushed red chilli to the pan
Put in the chopped capsicum as well
Add the tomato sauce and mix well
Throw in the pepper powder and then add vinegar
Pour in the fish broth and mix well. Wait for it to boil
Once the sauce starts to boil and thicken, drop the fish pieces into the gravy
Add the chopped celery to it
Wait for it to boil for another 2 minutes and then take off the flame
Saucy chilli fish is ready to be served
