Monsoon brings along fond memories of excellent broth. This fish soup exudes such an old world charm with its concoction of mildly spicy soup in white sauce.
Ingredients
¼ kg fresh fish, cleaned and sliced
½ cup onion, finely chopped
2 tsp ginger, finely chopped
1 dsp celery, finely chopped
1 tsp crushed pepper
Salt as required
4 cups water
1 dsp oil
2 tsp maida
½ cup milk
Preparation
In a pressure cooker, add the fish, onion, ginger, celery, pepper, salt and water and let it cook
In a pan, pour the oil
Put in the maida and stir well
Simmer and add the milk, stirring all the while
Strain the soup into the pan
Add a few pieces of cooked fish and let it boil
Sprinkle some chopped celery and the light and delicious fish soup is ready to serve
