Kids' Cooking | Chicken club sandwich

The club sandwich, or club house sandwich, is said to have originated in the Saratoga Club House in New York in 1894. And over the years, this sinful treat has found a huge fanbase across the globe. Toasted bread slices, a generous spread of mayonnaise between the layers of cooked chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese make this typical version. This hard to resist treat could make a great addition to your packed lunch.

Ingredients
2 chicken breasts (scored)
1 tbsp lime juice
2 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp thyme
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 cheese slices
2/3 lettuce leaves
2 bacon slices, fried (optional)
1 tomato, thinly sliced
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 egg
3 bread slices

Preparation
Marinate the chicken using lime juice, olive oil, thyme, pepper and salt
Keep it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes
Cook the marinated chicken in an oven preheated at 180 degree Celsius
While the chicken is being cooked, fry the egg in olive oil
Toast three slices of bread
Thinly slice the cooked chicken breasts
Spread some mayonnaise on a slice of toasted bread
Arrange chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on it
Please another slice of bread and spread mayo over it
Place the fried egg on top of it
Arrange the bacon over it
Finish it of with another slice of bread with mayo spread on the bottom side
Slice the sandwich diagonally to make it easier to eat
Serve with French fries
