The classic pancake recipe

Pancake is undoubtedly one of the most popular breakfast dishes in the world. It is cooked at millions of homes on a daily basis. Though the classic pancake is primarily made with all-purpose flour, eggs and butter, the dish has many varieties with different flavours and textures as well. Try out this easy recipe of the classic pancake.

Ingredients
250 gms all purpose flour (maida)
2 eggs (with the whites and yolks separated)
1 cup sugar
25 gms melted butter
100 ml milk
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla essence
Salt to taste

Preparation
Into a bowl, add the egg yolks and sugar
Mix well
Add the melted butter, vanilla essence, all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt into it
Mix well into a smooth batter
Beat the egg whites in another bowl
Add it into the batter and fold well
Heat butter in a pan or griddle
Pour a spoonful of the batter and cook the pancakes by flipping it
Usually, honey or maple syrup is drizzled on top of the classic pancake. However, it tastes delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or fruit salad too.
