Kerala's Idukki district was one of the most-affected regions during the unprecedented rain that lashed the state during mid-August. Unlike the other flood-hit regions in Kerala, Idukki, which is in the Western Ghats, was hit by massive landslides too and over 50 deaths were caused by them.
