Angamaly: A 31-year-old man, who was found with burn injuries after allegedly attacking a couple at Palissery near here, died en route to the hospital.

The deceased was Nishil, son of late Shivadasan and Ramani of Munnoorppilly.

The couple Dymis, 34, and his wife Fifi, 28, sustained stab injuries. The attack was reportedly triggered over a dispute about tile works at the couple's house.

Fifi was stabbed on the neck, while Dymis sustained injuries to his stomach and hands. Both of them are out of danger.

The incident happened when Dymis and Fifi returned home after poll campaigning by 2pm on Tuesday.

The couple said that Nishil had arrived early and was hiding near the house. While Fifi stepped out to feed the dog, Nishil attacked her. Fifi ran towards the front of the house and Dymis came to her rescue but he too sustained injuries.

Hearing the ruckus, the neighbours rushed to their home and found the injured couple on the sit-out of the house and Nishil lying engulfed in flames at the courtyard.

The housewarming ceremony of the couple’s home was held 10 months ago. A complaint was filed with the police against Nishil over disputes about tile works.

Nishil claimed that he had to get Rs 30,000 more. However, Dymis refused to give this much, leading to a dispute. Both of them got into an altercation recently. Dymis had approached the police against Nishil a week ago.
