Kozhikode: In a typical 'force-style' regrouping, four retired police officers have come together to start a cybersecurity services firm by the name Cybit Global, in Thiruvananthapuram.

The retired officers decided to make use of their professional expertise in cybersecurity to train, support and serve the law enforcement, with the support of international agencies.

Cybit Global will handle information technology, information security, technology enhancement and training related matters.

Thrust area

The main objective is to facilitate familiarisation with the new developments, technology concepts, and software updates in IT and allied discipline, says B Muraleedharan, a retired deputy commissioner of police who is part of the inception team.

The team includes retired officers who had set up the IT network and software solutions for the Kerala police. Anilkumar K, a former assistant commissioner of police (ACP) and former operations officer, Police Cyberdome; Joseph Sarto, ACP; and retired sub-inspector Jose Thomas are the other members of the team.

Major verticals

Consulting, support services, managed services and training would be the main verticals in Cybit Global, they said.

The company will provide customized solutions to stakeholders. This would let them make technology transformations in line with today's dynamic business and educational environment. The company also offers corporate training programmes, seminars and internships on cyber and data security.

Updates and services on new trends like IOT, block chain, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, augmented reality (AR), and data sciences will also be offered by the company.

The office was opened by inspector-general of police Manoj Abraham in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. City police commissioner P Prakash launched the website.
