Kannur: The body of a non-resident Keralite, who died while he was in home quarantine, was buried on Monday. His coronavirus test report turned out to be negative, health authorities said.
Abdul Khader, 65, died after a heart attack on Sunday, while being under home quarantine. He had come home from Sharjah.
The authorities had collected his blood sample to check if he was not infected with the virus.
"A postmortem was exempted as per the request by the family members who conducted his last rights this morning," police said.
Idukki politician
Meanwhile, the blood samples of 24 people, who were primary or secondary contacts of the COVID-19 positive politician from Idukki, tested negative, officials said.
The politician is a leader of the Congress' trade union outfit INTUC.
He was tested positive on March 26. However, his second test turned out to be negative.
"We expect the politician's third blood sample test results by today evening," they said.
He is presently under observation at the isolation ward of Thodupuzha district hospital.
