Fresh case against Dileep, now accused of issuing death threat to investigating officer

Kochi: A fresh case has been filed against actor Dileep, who is accused of sexual harassment of a popular Malayalam female actor in 2017.

Dileep is now accused of issuing death threats to at least five senior police officers.

Besides, Dileep, the actor's brotherAnoop, friends Suraj, Appu and Baiju Chengamanad and an unnamed person are included in the FIR.

The fresh allegations have emerged based on a statement given by director Balachandrakumar, an acquaintance of Dileep.

The Crime Branch had taken a statement from Balachandrakumar after his recent interview given to a television channel had fresh allegations against Dileep.

As per the statement, a conspiracy meeting was held on October 15, 2017 at Dileep's residence at Aluva.

Balachandrakumar reportedly told the Crime Branch that he had heard Dileep talk about attempting to murder ADGP B Sandhya, DIGs AV George, S Sudarssan, and NJ Sojan and DySp Baiju Poulose.

Meanwhile, the investigating team has split into three to probe the various angles involved. ADGP S Sreejith, who is overseeing the investigation, said that the probes will be based on the court's directives.

The police team probing the case said that they will be taking a fresh statement from the victim, if needed, after getting permission from the court.
