Abu Dhabi: Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali was dismissed in the most bizarre way against Australia in the second Test, here on Thursday.

The incident happened in the 52nd over when Australian pacer Peter Siddle got Ali to edge a delivery to third-man.

Ali came down the pitch to have a word with non-striker Asad Shafiq but the two of them didn't realise that the ball had stopped just short of the boundary.

Mitchell Starc soon retrieved the ball and threw it back to wicketkeeper Tim Paine, who ran Ali out, leaving the Pakistani duo looking stunned and sheepish.

Azhar fell for a well played 64, inclusive of four boundaries.

The comical run out left Twitterati laughing as several described it as one of the most unbelievable run-outs in the history of cricket.
