Masala Pathiri

Easy to make and undoubtedly sumptuous, the masala pathiri is your answer to a healthy alternative for the ordinary chappati.

Ingredients
1 glass raw rice
¾ glass cooked rice
1 cup coconut, grated 
1 onion, finely chopped 
2 green chillies, chopped fine
½ tsp garlic, crushed
A few curry leaves
1 tomato, chopped fine
Oil, as required
Salt, to taste

Preparation
Soak the raw rice in water for an hour. Wash and drain
Grind the raw rice, cooked rice, coconut and salt together to a batter and keep aside
Combine the onion, green chillies, garlic, curry leaves and salt by rubbing with your fingers
Now add the tomato and keep aside
Heat a greased griddle and spread a ladle of the batter on it
Dab a little oil and spread some masala over the pathiri
When done, transfer the pathiri to a plate without turning over
Repeat with remaining ingredients
Serve hot
