Home-made Mysore pak for this Navratri

Mysore pak is one of the most popular sweet dishes in South India. 'Pak,' in Sanskrit means sweet. Here is a simple recipe to make the iconic sweet at home.

Ingredients
1 cup gram flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup ghee
1 cup water

Preparation
Heat ghee in a pan
Add the gram flour and roast until golden brown
Make caramel by boiling sugar in water. The syrup should have a thread like consistency as it drips from spoon
Add the roasted gram flour into it
Add the rest of the ghee
Stir until the ghee separate from the vessel
Spread this mixture in a greased vessel
Cut into desired shapes when it is warm.
