Enjoy the supersoft kinnapathiri with tea or spicy curries

Pathiri, the amazingly soft and thin rice pancake, is one of the most authentic dishes of the famed Malabari cuisine. True lovers of pathiri vow that there are almost a hundred different varieties of this unique dish. Kinna pathiri, an incredible evening snack is one of them. The flavour of cumin, with a hint of shallots is in sync with the goodness of rice.

Here is the simple recipe of kinna pathiri which can be relished with a cup of hot tea.

Ingredients
1 cup raw rice
1 cup ordinary rice
½ coconut (grated)
1 tbsp fennel seeds
A pinch of cumin
½ cup shallots (chopped)
Salt as required

Preparation
Soak the raw rice and ordinary rice together for 3-4 hours
Wash the rice well and drain 
In a blender, add the rice mix, grated coconut, fennel seeds, cumin, shallots, and salt as required
Grind well 
This batter should have the consistency of dosa batter
Cook the pathiri in steam
Kinnapathir is a tasty evening snack. It goes well with different curries as well
