Kalpetta: Actress-politician Kushboo Sundar is busy on the campaign trail as she seeks votes for Congress candidates. After a hectic and eventful tour in Bangalore last week, the Congress leader arrived in Kerala's Wayanad from where the party chief Rahul Gandhi is the candidate for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled in the state on April 23.

Kushboo, who is a national spokesperson of the Congress, challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to campaign against Rahul in Wayanad while campaigning in the constituency that abutts Karnataka and Tamil Nadu borders.

Her road show in Wayanad was held after a public meeting. Many supporters turned up at the long road show that ended at Panamaram.

Kushboo continued her campaign in the constituency Tuesday also.

The star campaigner referred to the sensitive Sabarimala issue which is likely to influence Kerala voters in a big way.

Though the court’s order ensuring gender equality was welcome, centuries’ old customs cannot be forgotten overnight, she noted.

Last week a video showing Kushboo slapping a man over alleged misbehaviour during a rally in Bangalore had gone viral on social media. In the brief video clip available on Twitter, the Congress spokesperson is seen jostling for space in a crowd and then suddenly turning and slapping a man before a policeman takes him away.

She was campaigning for Rizwan Arshad, the Congress candidate from the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency, when the molestation happened.

Social media users then praised her for showing "courage" and not tolerating any misbehaviour.
