Malayalis raised India's glory, CPM leader reminds Arnab

Jayarajan said Goswami has to rise to the level of a national media person.

Thiruvananthapuram: Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami is under fire for his alleged nasty comments about Malayalis, while discussing Kerala floods on the channel. M V Jayarajan, CPM leader and private secretary to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, is the latest to lash out at the journalist in a Facebook post.

In a note posted on the social media, Jayarajan says it seems Arnab has the same petty brain of the saffron politican who celebrated on the assumption that Kerala relief fund money was getting drained. “He wouldn't have expressed such opinion had he stayed without bending his spine and had been prepared to study and understand Kerala and Malayalis instead of becoming a dummy player for Sangh Parivar politics,” he said.

Shashi Tharoor's reply to Arnab Goswami: I'm a proud Malayali

Arnab's reported comment slighting Keralites came as the flood misery was discussed on his own channel. As the report about an UAE aid offer to Kerala was discussed, he commented “the most shameless group of people” he had seen. Malayalis registered their strong protest against it on the social media. Keralites protested on the Facebook pages of Republic TV and of Arnab and gave low rating for the channel's app on Playstore.

Shashi Taroor, MP, had also hit out at Arnab. “Cheap minds are mounting shameful attacks against Malayalis. This is a time when we have to stand united for ourselves. Time to think why we are proud to be Malayalis,” he tweeted under the hashtag “Proud to be a Malayali.”

From Jayarajan's note:

Arnab Goswami has to apologise for having insulted Malayalis.

Goswami has proven that he cannot even be called a local journalist, leave alone the tag of a national journalist. Media persons work for the society, and are well-studied, fearless and honest. However, this man who claims a media address has tried to insult Malayalis and Kerala at a time when the state is facing a flood misery.

It seems Arnab has the same petty brain of the saffron politician who celebrated on the assumption that Kerala relief fund money was getting drained. He wouldn't have expressed such opinion had he stayed without bending his spine and had been prepared to study and understand Kerala and Malayalis instead of becoming a dummy player for Sangh Parivar politics.

Unlike Goswami's Assam, Kerala and Malayalis compete with the world in many ways. The world is at present discussing how Kerala unitedly to defeat the biggest calamity in a century despite having no previous experience. We aren't shameless, we are people who have raised India's glory. To comprehend that, he has to remove the Sangh Parivar lenses and gain the right perspective of a media person. Goswami has to rise to the level of a national media person.
