Actor assault case: Prosecution objects to Dileep's anticipatory bail plea, claims he's chief conspirator

Dileep

Kochi: The prosecution has argued that Dileep is the chief conspirator in the 2017 actor assault case.

The prosecution has objected to Dileep's anticipatory bail plea in the High Court of Kerala on charges of attempting to harm the investigating officers.

Dileep tried to influence the investigation at various phases and if granted bail he could further hamper the progress of the case, the prosecution has stated in its affidavit.

It says that at least 20 witnesses have turned hostile to assist Dileep.

The affidavit states that a forensic examination was required on the voice clips and samples submitted by director Balachandrakumar that claims to implicate Dileep in the crime.

Earlier this week, a special team of the Kerala Police had raided the houses of Dileep and associates and confiscated mobile phones and computer hard disk.

Dileep has served two-month jail term in the assault case in 2017.

The High Court on Friday is set to listen to the bail pleas moved by Dileep and five others.
