CPM activist hacked in Alappuzha; 2 BMS workers held, say reports

Alappuzha: A CPM activist sustained serious injuries after being hacked at Kalavoor here on Wednesday.

Valavanad Local Committee member, TC Santosh reportedly sustained injuries on his head and hands. He was rushed to the critical care unit of a private hospital in Ernakulam.

The CPIM Valavanad LC in a Facebook post has alleged that the assailants were BMS workers, who attacked Santosh at his workshop.

Manorama News reported that two BMS activists Kuruvi Suresh and Shanmugham have been arrested over the incident.

Alappuzha had witnessed two political murders in December last year.

KS Shan, a leader of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) was hacked to death at Mannancherry here on December 18. Within hours, in alleged retaliation, OBC Morcha leader Ranjith Sreenivas was also hacked to death in the town.
