There has been a slight improvement in the condition of violinist Balabhaskar and wife Lakshmi, who are undergoing treatment after a road accident Tuesday. Meanwhile, the hospital has informed that a medical bulletin will be released on his health starting today owing to large number of queries regarding his condition.
Sources close to Balabhaskar said he was responding to medicines and that he opened his eyes in response to his father's call.
Variations in blood pressure levels were slightly hampering treatment, said reports. His wife Lakshmi is out of criticality.
Meanwhile, the couple’s relatives have decided to embalm the body their two-year-old daughter Tejaswini Bala, who was killed in the mishap. Balabhaskar has been taken off the ventillator and is responding well to medicines, doctors said.
The musician, who suffered injuries in vertebral column and central nervous system, underwent an emergency surgery on Tuesday.
The accident took place at Pallippuram in Thiruvananthapuram when the car in which the family was travelling rammed a tree, killing Tejaswini. Balabhaskar, Lakshmi and driver Arjun suffered severe injuries.
Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle after dozing off.
