Kochi: Kochi Central circle inspector V S Navas, who hit the headlines for his vanishing act after a wireless spat with his superior officer, is set to resume duty on Wednesday.
He met the city police commissioner along with city Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) P S Suresh, with whom he had an argument, on Monday afternoon at the office of the city police commissioner. They sorted out their differences and left the office as friends.
City police commissioner Vijay Sakhare had asked both the officers to appear before him. They came to the commissioner office at about 1 pm. After meeting the commissioner, they came out with hands on their shoulders. Navas also saluted Suresh when he got into his car to leave.
It is understood that both have told the city commissioner that there were no issues between them. On Sunday, Navas had said that Suresh had called him on phone and expressed regret over the spat.
"I will take charge as Mattancherry station inspector on Wednesday," Navas said. At present, Navas is Ernakulam City Central station house officer. He had written to the DGP requesting him to let him resume duty.
Meanwhile, P S Suresh took charge as Mattancherry assistant commissioner on Monday. After meeting the city commissioner, Suresh reached the office in Mattancherry by evening.
Navas was reported missing since Thursday morning after an argument with Suresh on Wednesday night. On Saturday, he was traced to neighbouring Tamil Nadu. His wife had complained to the chief minister alleging that Navas went missing due to mental torture by his superior officers.
