Thodupuzha: An accused in the Abhimanyu murder case who came to study at a private college in Thodupuzha was stopped by SFI workers.

Muhammad Riza, 26th accused in the murder case of Ernakulam Maharajas College student Abhimanyu, had secured admission for LLB in the private college.

Though the classes had started earlier, Riza turned up only on Thursday. This prompted SFI workers to stage a strike saying that a murder case accused won't be allowed to study in the college.

The SFI activists closed the gate of the college and didn't let students inside. Later, the police arrived and held talks with protesting activists.

Arrested in the Abhimanyu murder case, Riza had got bail from the court. College authorities said that Riza was given admission on the basis of a court order and the striking students have been briefed about this.
