Music maestro M K Arjunan, popularly known as Arjunan master, passed away at Kochi on Monday. He was 84.

He composed over a thousands songs in around 200 movies during his career spanning 50 years.

A master composer, he has worked along with stalwarts K J Yesudas, A R Rahman, G Devarajan and Sujatha.

The Kerala State Award winning composer is known for his melodies Paadatha veenayum, Kasthoori manakkunnallo, Vaalkkannezhuthi, and Pournami chandrika.
