Quotation to kill husband fails, newlywed ends life in TN

Kumaly: A 21-year-old woman, who gave a quotation to kill her husband within one month of their marriage, ended her life. The incident came to light after the police nabbed the quotation gang based on a complaint by the husband, who escaped the murder bid. Fearing that she too would be caught, the woman hanged herself at her home.

The incident happened at Kambam in Theni district of Tamil Nadu. Kambam native Bhuvaneswari gave quotation to kill her husband Gautham, 24. Gautham and Bhuvaneswari had tied the knot on November 10. Bhuvaneswari's marriage was conducted while she was awaiting to join the police after completing her training. The thought that she would not be able to go for work prompted Bhuvaneswari to give the quotation.

Bhuvaneswari contacted an acquaintance, Niranjan (Antony - 20), to kill her husband. For this she gave Rs 75,000 after pawning her gold chain. After plotting with the quotation gang, Bhuvaneswari visited Thekkady along with her husband on December 2. They were riding a scooter.

On their way back, she asked her husband to stop the scooter by the roadside under the pretext of sight-seeing and they walked for some distance. When they returned, they found the tyre punctured. Then Gautham walked, while pushing the scooter along. As per their plan, the quotation gang's car rammed Gautham's scooter but they could not kill Gautham. They then got off the car and assaulted Gautham but left him by the road as other vehicles arrived at the spot. Gautham then approached the Kambam police with the complaint.

In the subsequent police probe, Niranjan, Pradeep (35), Manoj Kumar (20), Albert (28) and Jayasandhya (18) of the quotation gang were nabbed. With this, it became clear to Bhuvaneswari that she too would come under the scanner and she ended her life.
