CPM sticks to earlier schedule, State conference from March 1

CPM conventions from Sept, Kannur to host Party Congress in April

Thiruvananthapuram: The State secretariat meeting of the CPM has decided to hold the party's State conference in Kochi as per the schedule fixed earlier.

The delegates' session will be held at B Raghavan Nagar from March 1 to 4. The public meeting will be held at E Balanandan Nagar. The venue where seminars will be held is named after the slain SFI leader Abhimanyu.

CPM State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the party decided to conduct the party State conference as per the earlier fixed schedule, after taking into account the relaxations made in COVID restrictions by the State Government.

The public meeting will be held as per the guidelines issued by the government.  He hoped that the party would get the same kind of relaxation given for the Maraman convention and Aluva Sivarathri, for holding the public meeting as part of the conference.

The CPM would reach out to the public on February 13 and 14 to collect funds for the conduct of the State conference. The party will observe February 21 as flag day.

The State secretariat also decided to conduct the once postponed Alappuzha party district conference on February 15 and 16.

The amendments and suggestions to the draft political resolution meant for the Party Congress will have to be sent to the party Central Committee by March 10.

Party politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai would brief online the party units, from the party branch committee-level to the State Committee, on March 26 at 4 pm on the guidelines to be followed while preparing and sending their suggestions and amendments on the draft political resolution.

The newly-elected State committee to be held on March 9 will prepare Kerala's unit's views on the draft political resolution.

Kodiyeri also announced that the meeting of the party State secretariat and the State Committee will be held from March 17 to 20. These meetings will finalise the organisational report, which is to be tabled in the State conference.
