Chukku kappi or refreshing coffee infused with dried ginger and other herbs is often enjoyed as a medicine to settle down fever. Here is how to make chukka kappi easily at home.
Ingredients
2 ½ cups water
1 tsp dried ginger powder
1 tsp pepper powder
2 cardamom pods
¼ tsp coriander seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coffee powder
4 Holy basil leaves
100 gms jaggery
Preparation
Add dried ginger powder, pepper, cardamom, coriander, cumin and Holy basil leaves in boiling water
After these have been nicely infused, add jaggery and coffee powder
Boil well
Enjoy the dry ginger coffee to keep away fever and cough during the monsoon.
