Monsoon special: Enjoy the spicy chukku kaappi, a fragrant concoction

Having a cup of hot chukku kaappi or dried ginger coffee during the monsoon season instantly elevates your mood on dull days. For decades, chukki kaappi has also been considered the go-to drink by many in Kerala when hit by cough and cold, menstrual pain, indigestion and more. Did you know that the spicy drink is also preferred by many due to its tempting aroma? Here's an easy, aromatic recipe for a strong ginger coffee!

Ingredients
1 litre water
3 guava leaves
6 Holy basil leaves
4 Indian borage leaves
½ tbsp dried ginger powder
1 tbsp pepper
½ tbsp cumin
50 gms jaggery
¼ tbsp coffee powder

Preparation
Boil water
Add all the ingredients except coffee powder
Mix well
Turn off the flame and strain into cups
Spicy and refreshing chukka kaappi is ready.
