COVID-19: 2,846 new cases in Kerala on Tuesday

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Tuesday reported 2,846 fresh COVID-19 cases and 4,325 recoveries from the infection.

Test Positivity Rate (TPR) in Kerala on the day was 7.02% after 40,523 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Kerala's COVID toll has reached 65,501, after two deaths recorded in the last 24 hours and 166 previously undocumented fatalities were made official by the health department.

The total recoveries in the state reached 64,10,844 and the active cases dropped to 24,912.

Of the new cases, 27 were health workers, eight from outside the state and 2,696 infected through contact with the source of it not being clear in 115.

There are currently 93,948 people under surveillance in various districts, of whom 92,065 are in home or institutional quarantine and 1,833 in hospitals.
