Congress MPs write to Sonia against KPCC chief Sudhakaran for sidelining them

New Delhi: A few Congress parliamentarians from Kerala have written a letter to  Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the All-India Congress Committee, expressing their displeasure over the style of functioning of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President K Sudhakaran.

The parliamentarians alleged that Sudhakaran was not holding talks on the appointment of office-bearers to District Congress Committees and Block Committees.

The MPs have also written to Tariq Anwar, the AICC general secretary in-charge of the party's affairs in Kerala.

Earlier, the AICC put on hold a list of office-bearers the KPCC had forwarded. The high command directed the State leadership to consult senior leaders and MPs before finalising the list.

The MPs alleged in the letter that Sudhakaran had not adhered to the high command's instruction, and he was trying to include his people in the list.

They also refuted Sudhakaran's statement that all were consulted. Terming his statement 'baseless', the parliamentarians said Sudhakaran had not even rang up some of the MPs.

It was also alleged that some of those who have been included in the KPCC list had worked to ensure the defeat of Congress candidates in the 2021 Assembly polls.

The MPs have decided to meet Sonia when the parliament session begins by mid-March, if the KPCC ignores them before releasing the list.
