Pathanamthitta: A woman was taken into custody one-and-a-half years after her husband Naushad of Padam went missing. Police now suspect he was murdered.

According to the information provided by the wife, police have mounted a search in Adoor to recover Naushad's body. But the cops say the woman's statements are contradictory.

In 2021, Naushad's father had lodged a man missing case. While interrogating the man's wife, they flagged certain anomalies in her statement.

They are holding the current investigations after she revealed that Naushad was killed.

She and Naushad lived in a rented house in Paruthipara. The woman had earlier testified that the body was buried on the rented house's premises. However, nothing has been confirmed as she has changed her statement again.

In the latest instance, she told police that she killed Naushad and threw him into the river.

The primary conclusion of the cops is domestic discord may have led to the murder.
