Make this millet appam without preparing the batter in advance

The batter for appams has to be prepared on the previous day for it to rise nicely. However, millet appams could be easily made without preparing the batter in advance. Millets are storehouses of calcium which helps in increasing bone strength. This dish is excellent for diabetes patients and weight watchers. Here is how to make tasty millet appam using just a handful of ingredients.

Ingredients
2 cups millet
½ cup boiled rice
1 cup grated coconut
½ tsp salt
¾ tsp yeast
2 tbsp sugar

Preparation
Wash the millet well
Soak the millet along with the rest of the ingredients for up to 5 – 6 hours
Grind the soaked ingredients on the next morning
Keep the batter aside for at least 30 minutes for it to rise
Heat an appa chatty
Pour a ladle full of batter
Rotate the chatty and spread the batter
Cook well
Enjoy millet appam with curry of your choice
