Ragi dosa

Ragi Dosa

This dosa is easy to prepare, and healthier than the regular dosa.


2 cups ragi powder
½ cup rice flour
½ cup sour curd
Salt to taste
½ cup onions, finely chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 cup coriander leaves, chopped
1 dsp ginger, grated
3 green chillies, finely chopped
1 tsp oil


Mix together the ragi powder, rice flour, curd and salt and bring it to dosa batter consistency, by adding the required quantity of water. Leave it undisturbed for half an hour
Now add the onions, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, ginger and green chillies to the batter and mix it well
Heat the tava and when hot, pour a ladle full of batter near the edge of the tava. Now roll the tava around so that the batter spreads into a circular dosa shape. Using a ladle or spoon to spread the dosa may tear it.
When the dosa becomes slightly crispy, sprinkle the oil around the edges and in the centre of the dosa
When the dosa is done, remove from the tava and serve hot
