Virtual knowledge fest, Kozhikode Life, begins on Clubhouse, to continue till August 10

A week-long innovative virtual knowledge festival, Kozhikode Life 2021: Letters International Festival, that delves into a variety of topics such as literature, music, arts and social media began on the social audio application, Clubhouse, on Wednesday.

The event assumes significance as the pandemic has curtailed physical gatherings and literary festivals in the State.

Prominent writers, social activists, feminists, artists and thinkers will participate in the festival, which will conclude on August 10.

Writer and actor Yama inaugurated the event on Wednesday. Rekha Raj delivered the keynote address. Festival director Dileep Raj introduced the festival.

The inaugural session was followed by discussion based on the works of C S Meenakshi, J Devika, Shamshad Hussain and Kavitha Balakrishnan in which R Rajashree, T V Sajeev, C J George, E P Rajagopalan, SB Sreelakshmi, Reshma Bharadwaj shared their thoughts.

Later, prominent musician Harish Shivaramkrishnan spoke on the topic ‘Singing as reading: Interpreting musical texts’. Music director Veetrag and singer Pushpavathi attended the session.
On Thursday, the festival will feature a discussion on the screenplay by Shahina K Rafiq, S Hareesh, G R Indugopan and P S Rafiq.
