Kochi: Artist, curator, and scenographer Bose Krishnamachari, co-founder and president of Kochi Biennale, has been included in the list of the world’s most influential personalities in the field of art as prepared by Art Review, an internationally renowned magazine.
Krishnamachari is ranked 38 on the list titled 'Power 100’, which includes personalities from all spheres of contemporary art such as artists, thinkers, curators, gallerists, museum directors, collectors, etc.
The magazine specifically mentions the progressive distinctiveness in the approaches of Krishnamachari, the driving force behind the Kochi Biennale that embodies a regional synthesis of global art. According to the publication, the democratisation of art is his uncompromising stance, and terms the exhibitions curated by him as part of the 'Keraleeyam' event organised by the state government as a testimony to this. It also makes a special mention of the Neurodiverse project, an art show of neurodiverse artists curated by Krishnamachari.
Apart from this, he has also curated the murals on the Manaveeyam street in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Traditional Historical and Colonial Architecture photography exhibition and 'Contextual Cosmologies' - a contemporary art exhibition currently on at the College of Fine Arts till 31st of this month. He was also instrumental in creating an excellent art gallery in the College of Fine Arts.
Artist, Curator and Scenographer Bose Krishnamachari is an acclaimed figure in the contemporary art scene of India. His work and exhibitions have been shown nationally and internationally in a diversity of contexts. He co-founded the Kochi Biennale Foundation in 2010, and ideated and co-curated first Kochi-Muziris Biennale that opened to the public on 12/12/12. He also curated the first edition Yinchuan Biennale (MoCA) in 2016. Krishnamachari is well known for his patronage and care towards the younger generation of artists and curators. He has been awarded by the Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy, British Council, Bombay Art Society, Charles Wallace Trust, United States Information Society, Forbes, India Today, Trends, FHM, GQ Men of the Year and many laurels to his credit.

Art Review, a London-based magazine, is also published from Hong Kong. Founded in 1949, it is regarded as one of the most prominent voices in contemporary art. The publication has started rolling out its ‘Power 100’ list - a global list to recognize and honour the most relevant works across the international art on numerous occasions, since 2002. The Power List is compiled annually by an international panel of global art professionals.
