Kochi: The Prithviraj-Parvathy-starrer 'My Story', which hit the screens last Friday, opened to mixed reviews. Now, director of the movie Roshini Dinaker alleged that a negative campagin is being made for her debut project.

“Negative reviews are promoted online which is paving for the poor performance of the film. I got a voice message just before the release of the movie in which it can be heard asking people to boycott the film”, she said while speaking at a press conference here on Monday evening.

She further alleged that the lead stars of the movie Prithviraj and Parvathy have not shown up for promotional events. “The lead actors of my film, both Parvathy and Prithviraj, have stayed away from the promotions and were not available.”

“The movie has four lip-lock scenes and abusers come down heavily saying Parvathy has overdone the scenes and the movie is not for families to watch in theatres. Such attacks do not affect the actors but it does affect the makers”, said Roshini, who reportedly made the movie on a Rs 18-crore budget.

Roshini also claimed that she had approached Women in Cinema Collective raising this as a concern but was futile. She also talked with actor Mohanlal for help demanding if a superstar comes in support, things would be different. However, Mohanlal pacified her by saying, “The movie will be accepted when the stars in the film themselves will promote it.”

Earlier, when the first song and trailer of the movie 'My Story' was released online, Parvathy was trolled heavily online. For the unknown, Parvathy was earlier attacked on social media for her controversial remarks against certain misogynistic dialogues by the character played by actor Mammootty in the movie 'Kasaba'.
