Actor Bibin George misses papa amid breakthrough | Watch video

Upcoming cinema guy Bibin George is literally walking on air after a series of successful enterprises in the filmdom. His screenplays right from 2015 movie 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Oru Yamandan Pranayakadha' and 'Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan' were resounding successes. As his first movie as a lead actor 'Oru Pazhaya Bomb Kadha' is collecting good numbers in the movie halls currently, Onmanorama caught up with Bibin, the very first disabled lead actor in Malayalam film industry, to ask Just One Question: Can you recall one incident that changed your life?

“I had long been scribbling away at light scripts for TV shows and feature films with all the carelessness of a youngster, when my father suddenly passed away. His unexpected departure changed my life altogether. Now, when my first movie as a lead actor is running successfully in the theatres, I miss my father and his pleased face after watching his dream realised. This is both a moment of great joy and immense grief for me,” Bibin told Onmanorama.

Bibin recalled his father's long-term ambition of watching his son overcoming all the challenges and finally making it to the silver screen, to play a significant character. “Now that I have written for a couple of movies, acted in some and also appeared as a lead actor in 'Oru Pazhaya Bomb Kadha' what else could be my biggest sorrow other than the absence of my ever-supportive father?” Bibin rued.

Bibin disclosed that he abstained from writing for almost one-and-a-half years after his father's death. The screen writer-actor who overcame his physical challenges to make a breakthrough realised that he had been competing with himself to achieve higher goals just to prove himself in front of his father.

“There was a time when I wrote scripts for TV shows and stage programmes without a break. I would rise before sunrise and write scripts before heading to my B.Ed college. I did my B.Ed in Hindi. After college, I would rush to the courier centre to mail completed scripts and get back home to start another one. I could overcome huge financial crises through writing. My father knows it all..,” he revealed, adding, “After my father passed away, I was depressed and felt it was worthless to carry on with the mechanical life. After a break, I started taking real risks, wrote independent script for a feature film and ventured out into acting. It became my own desire to prove myself.”

Bibin believes his late father's lingering divine presence is a blessing for him. “I owe my successes to the special blessing my father sends me from heaven,” he stated.
