Celeb connection: Deepika is related to the legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt, whose real name was Vasanth Padukone. She is also the distant cousin of filmmaker Kalpana Lajmi and veteran director Shyam Benegal.

Trivia: Deepika was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and holds a Danish passport. India does not allow its residents to assume dual citizenship, so officially she is a citizen of Denmark and hence cannot vote here.
