Gauthami Nair who made her debut as an actress with Dulquer Salmaan-starrer 'Second Show' is turning director.
The launch event of the movie was held on Friday in Kochi.
Launching the movie, Dulquer said, “Feel glad to be launching the movie 'Vritham' today. It's all the more pleasure to be with the stars of my debut movie. Really proud to see that Gautami has come all this way directing her own movie. Another reason to be proud is that the film crew is mostly women. When we did our debut film, Gauthami was the only female star. Gauthami has always surprised us. She was the college topper and new venturing to new path.”
The movie produced by Olivia Saira Raju will see actors Sunny Wayne, Durga Krishna, Anoop Menon, Saiju Kurup, Aneesh Gopal, Bibin.
Interestingly, Gautami is married to director Srinath Rajendran, who made his debut directorial venture with 'Second Show'.
Talking about 'Vritham', Gauthami said, “We stared discussing about this movie three years back. Then another project emerged and the marriage happened and we carried on with our own lives. Again, when the discussions started, the idea of direction came up. Yes, there is an air of excitement and nervousness as this is the first time I will be stepping into the shoes of my husband.”
Touted to be a crime drama, 'Vritham' is written by Daniell Sayooj Nair and KS Aravind. The film will go on floors from January 2.
