When Tovino Thomas literally lost sleep over his vote!

While the whole of Kerala went to polls on Tuesday, actor Tovino Thomas reminds us how important it is to vote despite busy schedules. Other film stars, including veterans Mohanlal and Mammootty, too were seen voting on the big day and even posted their pictures on their social media accounts.

When Tovino too shared his photo of getting inked, he looked tired and exhausted.

“Voting is not just our RIGHT, It’s our RESPONSIBILITY !!”, He captioned his photo.

Comments started pouring on his looks asking if he was sleepy. And now, the actor himself gave a reply for such queries.

“I am tired as I was deprived of sleep.”

He further clarified that he was shooting for a movie in Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu and drove all the way to Irinjalakuda in Kerala just to cast his vote and returned to work.

“Drove from Tenkasi to Irinjalakuda after shoot. Around 7 hours drive. Didn't sleep. Went and waited in the queue from 6.15 am. Was the first one to vote in my polling station. Now returning to Thenkashi for shoot. Do you think this is a joke?” (sic.) He wrote.

Well, not at all Tovino and we can't stop admiring you!

On a related note, Tovino hit back at Sebastian Paul, the former MP from Ernakulam, for sarcastically commenting that the popular actor had cast his maiden vote.

Later, Tovino clarified that it was not his first vote and that he had only stated that he was the first to cast his vote in the local polling booth at his native place.

And no sooner, Paul deleted his post and apologised for his remark and in turn praised the actor for his commitment.

On the work front, the actor is shooting for 'Kalki' in which he plays a cop. He has a couple of projects in his kitty. Last week, yet another movie featuring him was announced by Fahadh Faasil. Tovino will play the hero in 'Edakkad Battalion.06', which will be directed by Swapnesh K Nair. Samyuktha Menon is the heroine.
