Thiruvananthapuram: Marking the World Environment Day, 'Veyilmanam,' a short-film aimed at spreading awareness about environmental issues and sustainability, released on YouTube on Wednesday.

The film, written and directed by auto driver Babumon Anakkottoor of Nalanchira at Thiruvananthapuram, tries to tell the viewers about the importance of nature in human lives. It urges people to reclaim their lives by returning to nature and greenery.

The film had won Babumon the award for Best Screenplay given by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. This is fifth short-film directed by Babumon, an ardent nature lover.

The cinematography was done by Lalbabu, editing by Deepu Sasi and music by Jayesh Stephen. The cast includes Chandran Monalisa, Sunil Parameswaran, Master Abhimanyu, Master Arpan, Kumari Varsha and Kumari Aneena.
